The Roots of

My Work

Hi- I’m Kara!

I am an Ohio native, currently enjoying the beautiful natural landscape of the Sierra Nevada with my husband and dog. I feel a profound connection with Mother Earth, and I am humbly grounded in a practice of serving the greater good of all beings. I love the outdoors, and feel a deep gratitude that I am able to enjoy all the activities that bring me peace out in nature.

After many years of using alcohol and substances to cope, I eventually came to realize that I was actually trying to mask the underlying pain from earlier traumas. It was not until I began to explore a beautiful path of working with psychedelic medicines that I received a clear call to change, and started on my deep healing journey towards health, wellness and wholeness.

Working with these medicines with intention enhanced my connection with Spirit and my Higher Self, and was the catalyst for healing those deep wounds and finding balance in my life.

How I Work

My Approach to Coaching

Attuned Presence

I create a non-judgmental container where clients feel safe enough to slow down, turn inward, and connect deeply to themselves.

Trauma-Informed Support

I meet clients where they are at with compassion, curiosity and care for what their nervous system needs to regulate and start to heal.

Collaborative Exploration

I don’t create meaning for my clients- I gently invite them to get curious so they can discover their own meaning, and trust their inner wisdom to lead the way.

Embodied Integration

The experience alone does not create change. Alongside my clients, we explore how meaningful insights can become tangible behavioral changes in daily life.

A Turning Point

Healing Through Direct Experience

Working intentionally with ketamine and other entheogenic medicines opened a doorway to profound healing for me.

Rather than simply helping me feel better, these experiences helped me to become a better version of myself. I believe that this path is a journey, not a destination, and I am still a work in progress!

Experience & Training

Credentials

  • Certified Transformational Integration Coach- Being True To You Coach Training
  • Certified Sitter- Being True To You Sitter’s Training
  • Somatic Plant Medicine Integration Practitioner- Atira Tan SPMI Training
  • Leadership Team & Integration Circle Facilitator- Sierra Psychedelic Society
The most important qualification I bring doesn’t come from training, but from the lived experience of having navigated pain and suffering on my own. Leaning into the support of others, and learning how to listen deeply- this has helped me to keep coming back to home to the heart, and orient to my authentic self.

What Guides My Work

Core Values

Curiosity

Healing happens when we feel safe enough to look deeper, and explore ourselves without judgement.

Connection

Transformation happens through cultivating deeper relationships with ourselves, with others, and with nature and spirit.

Integrity

All my clients receive compassionate care that is ethical, safe and confidential.

Beyond Coaching

What I do for ME

When I am not coaching, you might find me in the mountains- hiking, biking, skiing or lake-ing. I also love yoga, creating art, dancing, and spending time with loved ones and my dog Ruby.

These practices keep my cup full, and allow me to offer the connection, presence and gratitude that I bring into my work with clients.
